Thank you to all the good people in the world; if I ran the world. . .

Maybe this is a boring post, but I’m feeling grateful that most people in the world are not sociopaths and some people are actually even altruistic, and, even more, they aren’t the holier-than-thou altruistic but they are a lot of fun.

If I ran the world, I would require teaching of sociopathy in high school, right along with using condoms and driver safety.

Right up there with courses in condoms and driver safety would be a good old-fashioned high school psychology course. A sort of Brain Manual 101. We try to teach safe sex and safe driving–how about spending a few minutes of the curriculum on the safe and efficient use of your brain? I would start the course with a week’s worth of optical illusions, just to remind everyone that you can’t always trust your senses.

PS–I agree–Most people in the world just want to get through the day without a rain of trouble falling on their heads. Basically good people.

Thanks for the comment Dirk. Actually, I would vote for teaching about sociopaths – that some people don’t have a conscience, and that it’s not their fault. Psychology or neuro-, whatever, but just get the point across.
